Teddy Stays by Lonely Button's Side

Teddy bounced on his sturdy legs, his golden-brown fur glowing in the sunny bedroom. "Let's build a tower!" he called to the toys.

The blocks tumbled. The toy train chugged. Everyone laughed and played together.

Teddy's round black button eyes looked around. He counted his friends. Someone was missing.

"Where's Button?" he asked.

The toys kept playing. Nobody answered.

Teddy walked to the toy chest. He peered into the quiet, shadowy corner. There sat Button, her white fur barely visible, her floppy ears drooping low.

"Button?" Teddy called softly.

Button turned away and curled up smaller.
