Teddy and the Slow Garden Growing

Teddy and Marcus knelt in the sunny garden with a packet of seeds. "Let's plant them!" Marcus said, bouncing on his rain boots. Teddy's golden-brown fur warmed in the sunshine as he helped dig small holes in the soft soil. They dropped seeds in carefully and covered them with dirt. Marcus patted the earth with both hands. "When will they grow?" he asked. Teddy placed a wooden marker in the ground. "Soon," he said with his gentle button-eyed smile. That night, Marcus whispered, "Teddy, maybe we should check if they've grown yet." He reached for his flashlight.
