Pumpkin stretched his stocky, round body on the cozy rug. He gave a slow blink, ready for a nap after dreaming of his family's famous meatballs. His fluffy tail curled happily. Then, his human dropped a plate nearby. Pumpkin perked up his triangular ears, expecting a meaty treat. Instead, Pumpkin sees the bright orange wedge on his plate and feels a little worried about the sticky juice. He sniffed it. The wet, sweet smell made his white whiskers twitch in alarm.
