Teddy Feels Brave On First Day

Teddy stands on his short, sturdy legs, patting his red vest. His child, Lily, gives him a giant, cozy hug. "You are my brave bear," she whispers. Teddy smiles his little stitched smile. He feels happy but a little jumpy inside. Then, Teddy grips his fuzzy backpack tight as the big school bus doors open with a loud creak. A tall teacher waves. Teddy's fluffy golden-brown fur puffs up. He steps inside, and the doors shut behind him.
