Brach Stays When Dino Gets Scared

Brach hummed softly as he watered the daisies in the meadow garden, his long neck swaying gently with the tune. The yellow and white flowers in his daisy chain garland bounced against his sage green skin. He noticed the sky growing darker.

"Brach! Brach!" Dino raced through the flower beds, bright scales flashing. "Look at those clouds! They're huge and scary!"

Brach set down his watering can and lowered his head to Dino's level, his warm brown eyes meeting his friend's worried gaze. "A storm is coming," he said softly. "The garden needs the rain."

"But storms are loud!" Dino's voice trembled. "Remember last time? The thunder shook everything!"

Brach reached into his gardening apron pocket and pulled out a handful of seeds. "These flower seeds have been waiting for rain," he explained thoughtfully.

A distant rumble rolled across the sky. Dino jumped. "I want to hide in my cave until it's over!"

"You'll miss something special," Brach said gently.

Another rumble, closer this time. Dino's eyes went wide with fear. "Come hide with me!"

Brach looked at the darkening sky, then at his frightened friend. The first cold drops began to fall.
