Racing Through The Shifting Stone Hallway
The Ticking Trap
Zara knelt on the dusty stones of the Clockwork Castle, her deep brown eyes sparkling as she examined a tiny, ticking brass beetle. She brushed a stray wave of dark brown hair behind her patterned headband, pulling a notebook from her worn leather satchel. "Look at the gears, guys! I wonder how it stores energy?" "Fascinating, truly, but can we focus?" Milo muttered, adjusting his perfectly round glasses. He tapped his foot in a rapid 1-2-3 rhythm, a nervous habit. "The brochure said this place is highly unstable." Remy bounded over, nearly tripping over his own oversized sneakers. "Who cares? It's a giant puzzle box! Let's press this shiny red button!" "Wait, Remy, we need to observe first!" Zara said, reaching out to stop him. Before she could, Remy's hand slapped the button. A loud chime echoes through the room just as Zara notices the stone floor starting to slide apart. The solid ground fractured into floating pillars. The walls spun, revealing three massive iron doors, each with a giant, ticking clock face above it. The grinding of gears filled the air as the floor beneath them began to sink into a dark, endless abyss.
