Mimi's Bedtime Mystery Gets Confusing
The Bedtime Question

Mimi sat by her favorite pond, her spectacles catching the evening light as she watched the water ripple. Her iridescent spots glowed softly—lavender and turquoise swirling peacefully. She was arranging smooth pebbles in patterns, humming a gentle tune her grandmother had taught her.
"Mimi! MIMI!" A small voice interrupted. Little Pip the duckling waddled over, his big brother Dash following behind. "Is it bedtime yet? Dash says it's bedtime but I don't WANT it to be bedtime!"
Dash sighed, his feathers ruffled with frustration. "Mom said bedtime is at eight o'clock, but Pip keeps asking every five minutes and I can't figure out the clock! The big hand is here and the little hand is there and it's all mixed up in my head!"
Mimi tilted her head thoughtfully, her spots beginning to shimmer brighter. "Let me see this tricky clock of yours."
Inside their cozy nest-house, a round clock hung on the wall. Both hands pointed in different directions. Pip bounced impatiently. "SEE? Is it bedtime NOW?"
Mimi looked closer. The little hand pointed between the 7 and 8. The big hand pointed to the 3. Dash threw up his wings. "I give up! How do you READ this thing?"
