The Perfectly Straight Problem

Star sat on a mossy patch, sketching her newest, grandest idea on a giant sycamore leaf: a three-story clubhouse with a twisty slide. Her rainbow-colored hair bounced as she hummed, concentrating on the rooftop design. Suddenly, a tiny black speck appeared on the edge of her drawing. Then another, and another. A perfect, straight line of ants began marching right across her blueprint! "Hey! Watch the ink!" Star said, waving a hand over them. The ants didn't scatter. They just paused and reformed their perfect line, continuing their journey. Star leaned closer, her big, sparkling purple-and-blue eyes wide with curiosity. No matter where they were, they never wiggled or wavered. How did they do that? For a creative builder who loved curvy slides and zigzag paths, this perfectly straight line was the most confusing, frustrating, and wonderful puzzle she had ever seen.
