Speaking English To The Talking Golden Bird
The Golden Visitor

Sunlight warmed the wooden floor of the village inn. My Hero stood by the open window, adjusting the sturdy brown bamboo-woven wrist cuffs on their arms. The young panda brushed a speck of dust from their bright red cloth cape. Everything felt peaceful. Suddenly, a flash of brilliant light darted past the glass. Flap! "I am Pip. I desperately need your help to find my lost home today." My Hero tilted their large, round head. Bright, observant black eyes widened in surprise. "Your home?" My Hero asked. "The Lost Kingdom of Sun-Clouds," Pip squawked, hopping nervously from left to right. "But the shadow-hawks are chasing me! They want to keep the kingdom hidden forever!" A loud, piercing screech echoed from the sky. Dark shapes blotted out the sun. My Hero stepped forward, placing a protective fuzzy arm in front of the trembling golden bird. The peaceful morning was gone. The shadow-hawks were diving straight for the window.
